Grub Raid Install
The Hardware-RAID Controller from Adaptec 1210SA was nicely preconfigured and was well know by the openSUSE Installer. Installation with a RAID-1 worked perfect, until the Bootloader Installation. Either Grub nor Lilo could be installed in the RAID, they don't found the right device. Even a openSUSE Rescuesystem won't work. The solution was to boot from the SUPER-GRUB-DISC and install the Bootloader from here.
After the Super-Grub-Disc has shown up its Interface, press c
for a Grub-Commandline-Interface.
With
root (hd<TAB>
the autocompletition found the raiddevice, the complete command looked like
root (hd0,4)
while 4 points to the /boot
partition, which was configured as a single asr__part5
partition.
setup (hd0)
completed the Grub-installation. After reboot Grub showed up and the boot-procedure worked.
